Matthew R. Kerns, MFA is a critically acclaimed theatre maker, producer, strategic creative consultant and public speaker. His career spans twenty plus years of award winning experience in theatre, arts, education, executive producing, arts administration and leadership. He is an award winning executive with proven expertise in the arts, nonprofit and start-up sectors. Matthew is also the Producing Artistic Director of the The Drama Club STL. 

 

The Drama Club STL  is a theatrical arts company that develops performing arts pieces for the stage, workshops and seminars for higher level and professional instruction. 

 

Matthew also serves as Producing Executive Director at St Lou Fringe. St Lou Fringe connects independent producers with audiences to share their original and avant-garde works for the stage in an annual multi-disciplinary festival. He was recently named a 2020 Diverse Business Leader by the St. Louis Business Journal for his leadership at St Lou Fringe. 

 

An artistic visionary with a keen sensibility for what is new and next, Matthew is a trusted source and connector. He has been featured and quoted in American Theatre Magazine, The St Louis Post-Dispatch, The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and National Public Radio.

 

Matthew received his Bachelors degree in Theatre and Communications from Eastern New Mexico University, and Masters in Fine Arts from Naropa University. Matthew is a classically trained actor with credits spanning theatre, film, televion and performance arts. 

 

Matthew resides and works in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoys travel, performance art in warehouses and spending time with his husband, Sean and their pets.
